Sub-floor rebuilds

Home > Sub-floor rebuilds

Some old houses have been sitting on the ground for so long that most of the floor frame timbers are rotten or have been attacked by fungus or termites.

At Able Reblocking Specialists, we are very experienced with this type of repair.

Below are some photos of an old house in Collingwood which we resurrected.

It would normally have been demolished, but the house had a heritage classification, so we replaced all of the bearers and joists and excavated dirt and debris from the underfloor. This gave us acceptable clearance between the sub-floor timbers and the ground (min 150mm).

It came up beautifully and we left it to the carpenters to join it into the new extension.
